Hugh Freeze isn’t having the easiest time of wrestling with play-calling duties at Auburn.

The Auburn head coach discussed what it’s been like so far at Wednesday’s teleconference.

Freeze emphasized that it has nothing to do offensive coordinator Phillip Montgomery, it’s just been harder than anticipated not being able to call the plays.

“I’m very transparent and this is no reflection on Coach Montgomery, it’s just it’s a lot harder than I anticipated it being not making the calls on game day offensively and when you’ve done it so long, people told me that would be the case, it’s just didn’t really know it would be this difficult and you miss it a lot.” said Freeze.

Freeze explained that he misses being able to call plays offensively on the sidelines like he used to do.

The Auburn offense has struggled in Freeze’s first season with the Tigers. Auburn ranks 13th in the SEC in terms of offensive yards per game with 371.

It’s still early, but the offensive struggles are becoming consistent for the Tigers.

Changes can still be made to right the ship on offense for Auburn. The offense will need to be at its best to take down No. 1 Georgia.

Kickoff will be at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
