A former Auburn quarterback has found himself in dire condition in a Georgia hospital.

Jeff Klein, who played for the Tigers between 1999-2001 and who now teaches and coaches at Loachapoka High School in Alabama, was checked in to a Columbus, Ga. hospital after experiencing “severe back pain”, according to a GoFundMe page set up for him and his family. While an MRI on his lower back revealed “spots”, Klein’s condition has quickly deteriorated.

“Unfortunately, Jeff’s condition has rapidly become more drastic and equally challenging to the doctors since his admittance,” the GoFundMe page reads.

Klein is married with 3 young sons. A $100,000 goal has been set up for his medical bills and to support his family.

“At this time, without Jeff teaching in the classroom or coaching on the field, his family will not have a sustainable source of income. We can do what is necessary while Adrienne focuses on this extremely challenging chapter of their lives,” the page, set up by Heather Kinder, reads.

The SEC Network’s Cole Cubelic, a teammate of Klein’s at Auburn, tweeted the link to the GoFundMe page along with an appeal for support:
