JaTarvious “Boobee” Whitlow’s time at Auburn appears to be over.

On Wednesday, Tigers head coach Gus Malzahn confirmed the report that Whitlow has entered the NCAA transfer portal during his National Signing Day press conference. And it appears there isn’t much of a chance of the running back coming back to Auburn.

“He’s looking for a fresh start,” Malzahn told the media. “We appreciate his time here and wish him nothing the best.”

Whitlow has been a big part of the Tigers’ rushing attack the past two seasons. In 2018, he had 787 yards and six touchdowns on the ground. This past season, he rushed for 763 yards and 10 touchdowns.

So, it will be a big loss for Auburn’s offense. But whichever school that Whitlow decides to transfer to is getting a solid addition to its running game.

Whitlow was at Auburn for three years, as he redshirted in 2017, so he still has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
