After losing in blowout fashion to LSU over the weekend, Auburn now faces another tough game against Ole Miss on Saturday.

On Monday, Hugh Freeze addressed some changes that need to be made moving forward.

One of those things is playing with more tempo. One of the reasons Auburn came up short against LSU was because the Tigers dominated the tempo. Freeze knows he has another tempo battle against the Rebels this week.

“We are very, very, very thin,” Freeze said in his press conference Monday. “LSU and Ole Miss want that kind of game. They thrive in that kind of game… It’s not working right now the other way, either, but it’s a struggle to say, ‘Hey, let’s go run with them.'”

He also knows he needs to make some slight tweaks on offense, but mostly wants to keep things the same to make sure he has a consistent team week in and week out.

“Offensively, it’s well documented we’ve struggled to be consistent,” Freeze said. “We’ll continue to try every personnel to make sure we’re playing the best kids. … (But) no real Earth-shaking personnel changes.”

Taking on Ole Miss on Saturday will be a chance for his team to learn from the Rebels’ high-powered offense, one that he wants to replicate when his roster is fully constructed.
