Johni Broome just completed his 3rd game back from an ankle injury. And if there are any lingering effects, Auburn‘s star big man is not showing it.

He delivered back-to-back games with 20+ points and 10+ rebounds last week with the Tigers registering Quad 1 road victories over LSU and Ole Miss. As a result, Broome took home some hardware.

On Monday, Broome was announced as the SEC Player of the Week (2nd straight) and the Naismith Trophy Player of the Week. He averaged 23 points, 14 rebounds, 2.5 blocks and 2 steals with his 9th and 10th games of the season with at least 20 points and 10 rebounds.

At LSU, Broome registered a game-high 26 points and registered 16 rebounds, the most boards he has produced in an SEC game this season. Against Ole Miss, Broome shot 50% from the floor, his first game making at least half of his shots since Jan. 4.

Considering it was Broome’s 2nd and 3rd games back since his injury, it’s a good sign for Auburn’s stretch run. He has averaged 32.66 minutes per game since returning.

Broome has been the catalyst for Auburn’s impressive season all year long. He is still Auburn’s leader in scoring, rebounding, assists and blocks while shooting 52% from the floor and 30% from 3-point range.
