Labaron Philon is staying in his home state. The top prospect in the state of Alabama has committed to play for Bruce Pearl’s Auburn program. It’s more big news for AU just days after landing a pledge from 5-star recruit Tahaad Pettiford.

Philon, an elite point guard prospect, made his decision public on Friday.

A Baker standout from Mobile, Alabama, Philon is listed at 6-4, 177 pounds. On the 247Sports composite rankings, Philon is rated 4-stars, the No. 1 Alabama product, No. 9 point guard and No. 41 prospect overall nationally in the class of 2024.

In October, Philon named Auburn, Alabama, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Kansas, Michigan and Cincinnati as his top 8 teams. In January, he tweeted about receiving offers from Louisville and Houston.
