Despite finishing his Auburn career as the SEC’s all-time leading scorer, Daniel Carlson hasn’t fared so well in the NFL.

Now, he’s looking for a job after he missed three field goals for the Minnesota Vikings in a 29-29 tie with the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, including a chip-shot attempt as time expired in overtime.

On Monday, coach Mike Zimmer was ruthless when explaining why the team decided to cut the rookie kicker.

Obviously, Carlson’s performance was abysmal on Sunday, but he’s a young kicker, so hopefully he gets another shot. Still, it’s understandable why the Vikings felt they needed to move on from the fifth-round pick.

It’ll be up to Carlson to bounce back from Sunday’s disaster and make his way back to respectability.
