This year is an extra special Peach Bowl, and it was announced on Thursday that the upcoming game between Auburn and UCF has sold out.

Though it will not be serving as a national semifinal game this season, the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl will still feature two talented teams fighting it out for bragging rights. It will also be the 50th anniversary of the Peach Bowl.

Auburn comes into the game after losing to Georgia in the SEC Championship and will look to RB Kerryon Johnson and QB Jarrett Stidham to provide a spark on offense. The Tigers will also need a strong defensive showing in order to slow down UCF’s offense.

On the other side, UCF enters the game with an undefeated record. The Knights are looking to send coach Scott Frost to Nebraska in style while taking down an SEC opponent.

In the official announcement for the sellout, Gary Stokan said he cannot think of a better way to celebrate the bowl’s 50th anniversary:

“I can’t think of a better way to celebrate our 50th Anniversary than with a top-12 matchup in front of a packed house on New Year’s Day,” said Gary Stokan, Peach Bowl, Inc. CEO and president. “We’re looking forward to starting 2018 off by welcoming more than 70,000 UCF and Auburn fans to Atlanta.”

It is definitely shaping up to be a great game in Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Kickoff is set for 12:30 pm EST New Year’s Day on ESPN.
