Rising sophomore Kyle Davis missed the entire spring for Auburn after leaving school due to circumstances described only as “personal reasons” by head coach Gus Malzahn. While Davis has yet to officially be announced back with the team, judging by his Instagram activity, the talented receiver has made his way back to the Plains.

After making 13 appearances, catching 12 passes for 248 yards and two touchdowns his first season on campus, Davis is expected to develop into one of the team’s leading receivers in 2017. A former four-star recruit, Davis made a name for himself as a true freshman thanks to his amazing athleticism and jaw-dropping catches last season.

While Auburn fans can hope his bright future has only just begun with the program, it looks like Davis has made his way back to campus following his spring absence. In the stories section of his Instagram account, Davis posted the following photo Monday:

So what exactly does this mean?

Davis’ head coach was asked about the receiver’s status during Monday’s SEC teleconference. In typical Malzahn fashion, the Auburn coach plans on keeping all information close to his knit sweater vest.

“We expect him to be back this summer, and we expect it to be fairly soon,” Malzahn said.

Auburn’s coach was asked a follow-up question in regards to the social media post and if that meant Davis was already back on campus. Again, Malzahn refused to give anything away.

“Like I said, we expect him back fairly soon,” Malzahn said.

Judging by the photo, Davis is clearly back on campus. Why Malzahn doesn’t feel obligated to share that information is anyone’s best guess at this point.
