Roc Bellantoni, former Auburn assistant, reportedly lands new job as defensive coordinator

Roc Bellantoni, a former Auburn assistant, has landed a new job as a defensive coordinator.
Pete Thamel of ESPN reported that Bellatoni will be on Tom Herman’s Florida Atlantic staff after he coached edge rushers and special teams at Auburn. He’s been a DC at Washington State and FAU. Bellantoni has been in coaching since the 1990s, working on both sides of the ball.
Recently, Bellatoni In 2020 joined the Utah State staff as special teams coordinator and tight ends coach. He previously coached at Washington State (2019), Buffalo (2017-18), Florida Atlantic (2014-16) and Villanova (2012-13). From 2001-11, Bellantoni was at Eastern Illinois in a variety of roles, including two games as acting head coach in 2007.

Bellantoni was not retained on Hugh Freeze’s new Auburn staff. He was brought onto Bryan Harsin’s staff in 2021 as an analyst, then was promoted last offseason after Bert Watts left for the Denver Broncos.
