Tre Mason signed by Canadian Football League team
Tre Mason has taken his first step to making a comeback in the NFL as the former Auburn running back has signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League.
The CFL team announced the deal on Wednesday.
In two NFL seasons, Mason rushed for 972 yards and five touchdowns before making a disturbing exit from the game. He failed to show up for team activities following the 2015 NFL season and has yet to play in the league since that time. Mason is only 25 years old and could potentially have a few good years left in him if he’s gotten his mind right outside the football field.
Mason was a Heisman Trophy finalist for Auburn back in 2013 after rushing for 1,816 yards and helping the Tigers win the SEC.
