Signing a scholarship with a college program apparently doesn’t mean as much as it once did.

As we’ve witnessed in football and basketball in recent weeks, several SEC prospects that have signed scholarship agreements have now backed out of those decisions this offseason and the latest to join that list is Auburn signee, Trey Alexander. Alexander announced his recruitment is back open on Thursday.

Alexander signed with Auburn back in November as a four-star prospect, the No. 15 shooting guard in the country and the top overall prospect from Oklahoma in the 2021 recruiting cycle.

Following this news, Auburn is down to one signee for the 2021 recruiting cycle as five-star forward Jabari Smith is now the lone signee in the class.

However, while the Tigers may be down to one signee, the program has picked up transfer commitments from former Arkansas guard Desi Sills and former North Carolina big man Walker Kessler this offseason.
