Zach Calzada is staying in the SEC West. The Texas A&M transfer quarterback announced his commitment to Auburn on Thursday.

As a redshirt sophomore, Calzada played in 12 games, including 10 starts, for Texas A&M in 2021. The third-year QB was 184-of-327 passing for 2,185 yards, 17 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. He also had a rushing score against Mississippi State.

It is the second time in as many seasons that Auburn has landed a transfer quarterback from a division rival. Ahead of the 2021 campaign, former LSU quarterback T.J. Finley took his talents to The Plains.

Out of Lanier High School in Georgia, Calzada was a 3-star prospect in the class of 2019. He signed with Texas A&M over 43 other scholarship offers. In 2019, Calzada played in 3 Aggies games, taking a redshirt. He did not see the field in 2020.
