The first College Football Playoff rankings are set to be released on Tuesday evening and, as expected, there will be some mixed opinions surrounding the lineup. Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney was among those who had some thoughts ahead of the release.

“It doesn’t matter,” he said bluntly.

Clemson is within the top-5 teams in national rankings and stands a very real chance at making it into the College Football Playoff though there are other emerging teams that stand the chance of keeping them just outside of that postseason race.

With just 5 weeks remaining in the regular season, there is a lot that can happen with Ohio State, Georgia, Tennessee, TCU, Oregon, Alabama and others in the conversation as each weekend in the sport holds more and more implications.
