Perhaps no other coach in college football inherited talent quite like Adams during his 2013 inaugural campaign on the Gamecocks’ defensive staff. All-Americans Jadeveon Clowney and Kelcy Quarles made for a relatively easy day at practice. Adams played college football at Southern Miss, coached previously at his alma-mater and most recently spent the 2012 season as an assistant on Larry Fedora’s staff at North Carolina.
