George MacIntyre

George MacIntyre coached Vanderbilt for seven seasons (1979-85) in addition to coaching at Tennessee-Martin.

He led the Commodores to an 8-4 record in 1982 and lost in the Hall of Fame Classic, his only winning season at Vandy. He earned SEC Coach of the Year honors that season.

MacIntyre’s other coaching stops included a stint as the Ole Miss offensive coordinator in 1978. He played college football for the Miami Hurricanes and his son Mike MacIntyre has been a head coach at Fresno State ad Colorado.
