Aaron Estrada, Hofstra hoops transfer, hearing from at least 4 SEC programs
By Ethan Stone
Published:
Aaron Estrada entered the transfer portal early Tuesday and has already heard from a lot of schools potentially looking to add the star guard to their roster next season.
Of course, “hearing from” does not mean the teams have necessarily extended an offer. More accurately, it means they are willing to have the discussion and interested in what he can bring to the table. And in Estrada’s case, there’s plenty to be excited about.
The senior guard is the reigning CAA Player of the Year and averaged 20 points per game last season. He’s also an elite floor general and a strong defender. By all measures, he’s a top 10 player currently in the transfer portal.
SEC programs such as Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas and Ole Miss have already reached out to Estrada:

Estrada has played point guard, shooting guard and even minutes at the 3-spot as a wing this past season. At the SEC level, his talents would be best served running point or the 2.
As far as the SEC is concerned, Alabama and Arkansas seem to be top potential destinations here. Both may be looking to replace their point guards from last season, with both Alabama’s Jahvon Quinerly and Arkansas’ Devo Davis entering the draft but maintaining their ability to come back to college. The pair will have until May 31 to make a decision.
