Tuesday has brought the announcement of 2 games involving Top 25 teams affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, one in the American Athletic Conference and one in the Big Ten.

In the Big Ten, Minnesota’s game at No. 18 Wisconsin has reportedly been cancelled as a result of positive tests within the Golden Gophers program. The game will not be rescheduled, making it the 3rd time the Badgers have had a cancellation this season. As such, they are no longer eligible for the Big Ten Championship Game as they will not have played enough games.

In the AAC, No. 24 Tulsa will not play Houston on Saturday as planned, the program announced, as Cougars players have tested positive for the virus and will have others unable to participate after contact tracing procedures. It’s possible that the game could be rescheduled for Dec. 19 as, in a similar arrangement to the SEC, teams who will not play in the conference’s championship can use the date to play postponed games.
