Big-man touchdowns are always a hit. There’s no better time than Bowl Season to find a way to get the ball in the hands of a 320-pound lineman.

Texas State reached into its bag of tricks on Tuesday to get junior offensive lineman Nash Jones involved down near the goal line. Jones made the catch on a throwback and would not be stopped for a 3-yard score.

A 4th-year junior, Jones is listed as measuring 6-5 and 320 pounds on the Texas State roster. His touchdown extended Texas State’s lead over Rice in the First Responder Bowl to 31-21 after the extra point. Moments later, senior linebacker Brian Holloway scored another Texas State touchdown, returning his second interception of the game 48 yards.

By dominating the 3rd quarter, the Bobcats have turned their 24-21 halftime advantage into a 38-21 game. The only downside for Texas State fans who made the trip to Dallas is that Gerald J. Ford Stadium is reportedly low on beer.

The game can be seen on ESPN.
