College football world reacts to Washington bumping Florida State out of Top 4 in latest CFP rankings

The latest College Football Playoff rankings offered no surprises at the top on Tuesday: Georgia, Ohio State, and Michigan remained at slots 1, 2, and 3, respectively.
But what about spot No. 4? The Washington Huskies, entering the night at No. 5, slipped past then No. 11 Oregon State 22-20. Meanwhile, the Florida State Seminoles, the committee’s No. 4 team after Week 11, was no match for FCS North Alabama, but lost Jordan Travis in the process.
Ultimately, the committee swapped the Huskies and Seminoles: Washington is No. 4, while Florida State is now No. 5. Looking ahead, the Huskies host Washington State on Saturday while the Noles wrap their regular season slate against Florida in Gainesville.
The committee’s decision to place Washington at No. 4 and Florida State at No. 5 was sure to get plenty of reaction from social media across the college football world. Here’s a sampling of what that looked like shortly after the latest CFP Top 25 was unveiled live on ESPN:
Washington in the 4 spot is comical. I hope Georgia beats them by 50 #cfp

The college playoff committee doesn’t know the definition of what TEAM means. Teams win games. #FSU #NOLES
