A former Saint James (Louisiana) High School standout, Preston was a sought-after prospect in the Class of 2022. On the 247Sports Composite, Preston was rated 4-stars, the No. 5 player in Louisiana, No. 8 wide receiver and No. 56 prospect overall in the class. Preston signed with Alabama over Texas, USC and others.

Preston is listed as a participant in 5 games for each season at UA. His fifth game for the 2022 campaign was the Sugar Bowl against Kansas State, allowing him to take a redshirt. He will be considered a redshirt sophomore in 2024 with three full remaining seasons of eligibility.

According to his Alabama bio, Preston (6-feet, 202 pounds) did not record any offensive statistics in his two seasons with the Crimson Tide.

Homecoming for Preston

Tulane is an intriguing transfer destination for Preston. He gets to go home to Louisiana, and might prove to be a player who benefits from a change of scenery.

Preston’s recruiting ranking creates expectations of an instant-impact player. Even though that did not happen at Alabama, it’s still a big get for Jon Sumrall’s Tulane program.
