Hawaii is currently the only open FBS head coaching job after Todd Graham’s Friday resignation.

College football fans are always curious to see what coaching carousel action will come from an FBS vacancy. Bruce Feldman of The Athletic is reporting that Timmy Chang, a former Hawaii quarterback currently on staff at Colorado State, is expected to be a top candidate for the UH job.

Chang, 40, set multiple passing records during his Hawaii playing days (2000-04). Professionally, Chang spent time in the NFL, NFL Europe and CFL. In 2012, Chang got into coaching as a grad assistant at SMU. Chang was Nevada’s wide receivers coach in 2021 and followed Jay Norvell to Colorado State.

If Hawaii goes with Chang, the head coaching carousel may stop spinning, barring any jumps to the NFL.
