Jalen Hurts was undoubtedly the marquee player of this year’s Senior Bowl. From the time it was announced he would play in the all-star game, much was made of the former Alabama quarterback’s return to the Yellowhammer State after a season at Oklahoma.

In Mobile, Hurts was presented with a special Oklahoma/Alabama dual helmet (which he did not wear in the actual game). During practices, he mingled with Nick Saban and posed for photos with his former Alabama teammates. A video featuring some of Hurts’ younger fans excited to meet the QB went viral.

On Saturday, it was finally gameday. After getting off to a rough start (2-of-7 passing), Hurts finished 6-of-13 for 58 yards, a touchdown and an interception. The statline might not give him the NFL Draft boost he was hoping for (though he was widely praised for the toughness he displayed), but Hurts was still appreciative of the invitation to participate in the game. On Twitter, he thanked the Senior Bowl for giving him an opportunity and also thanked all the fans who made it out to Ladd-Peebles Stadium.
