Kirk Herbstreit identifies top-performing players from Week 13, including 2 from SEC
Kirk Herbstreit is one of the most recognizable faces in football media. The longtime analyst can be seen on College GameDay, Thursday Night Football, and on the ABC game of the week on Saturdays.
Even with that schedule, Herbstreit takes time to identify the players, coaches, and teams who impressed him the most after each weekend. For Week 12, the analyst had plenty of players to choose from.
Here are my top performing players of WEEK 12:
Carson Beck @GeorgiaFootball
Jordyn Tyson @ASUFootball
Devon Dampier @UNMLoboFB
Emmett Mosley V @StanfordFball
Jamaal Pritchett @SouthAlabamaFB
Omarion Hampton @UNCFootball

At the No. 1 spot, Herbstreit went with Georgia’s Carson Beck. After facing criticism following a couple of poor performances, Beck threw for 347 yards with 2 touchdowns against Tennessee. The quarterback kept Georgia’s College Football Playoff hopes alive and may shoot his draft stock back up.
Arizona State’s Jordyn Tyson got the No. 2 spot. The star receiver caught 12 passes for 176 yards and 2 TDs as the Sun Devils took down Kansas State. The 3rd spot went to New Mexico QB Devon Dampier who racked up 174 passing yards, 193 rushing yards and 4 total TDs in a win over Washington State.
At No. 4, Herbstreit went with Stanford wide receiver Emmett Mosley V. Mosley caught 13 passes for 168 yards and 3 TDs en route to the Cardinal’s big upset win over Louisville. The 5th spot went to South Alabama’s Jamaal Pritchett, who caught 11 passes for 170 yards against Louisiana.
Omarion Hampton, North Carolina RB, earned the No. 6 spot after rushing for 244 yards and 1 TD. Hampton’s big day helped the Tar Heels secure bowl eligibility. Finally, Shemar James, Florida LB, got the No. 7 spot after collecting 11 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 tackles for loss, and 2 pass deflections.
