Though the Tigers are comfortably ahead in the all-time series (36-24-3 entering 2025), they alternated wins for the past 8 years until Texas A&M won it 2025 to create a 2-game winning streak.

The teams played first on December 2, 1899, with the Aggies winning 52-0. In fact, Texas A&M won the first 3 games in the series. However, LSU has since seized control. Interestingly, LSU won the first 6 games in the series after the Aggies joined the SEC in 2012. Texas A&M ended that slide in the epic 2018 encounter, which started the run of alternating wins.

That incredible 7-overtime game in 2018 ended with the Aggies winning 74-72. This back-and-forth game set an NCAA FBS record for most points scored in a single game and tied an NCAA record for playing in 7 overtime periods. It also led college football to changing its overtime rules.
