Dylan McCaffrey replaced Shea Patterson at quarterback for Michigan during the second half of Saturday’s game vs. Wisconsin, but McCaffrey wasn’t in for long.

On the Wolverines’ second drive of the third quarter, McCaffrey took a brutal hit from Badgers safety Reggie Pearson, which led to McCaffrey leaving injured and Pearson getting ejected for targeting.

Pearson led with his helmet on the play, which then caused helmet-to-helmet contact with McCaffrey. Watch how the play unfolded below:

McCaffrey took over at quarterback for Michigan to start the second half after Shea Patterson struggled.

However, it didn’t make a difference for the Wolverines, who trailed the Badgers, 35-8, after three quarters. Although it was a matchup of two of the top ranked teams in the country — and two of the better teams in the Big Ten — it certainly didn’t lead to an exciting game.
