Ambulance pulls onto field to take injured N.C. State player to hospital
A very bad night against Virginia Tech got much worse when N.C. State redshirt freshman Khalid Martin suffered a serious injury during the third quarter.
It was so bad that an ambulance had to pull onto the field to carry the player to the hospital. Usually, players are carted off; however, the ambulance came directly onto the field. Not sure we’ve ever seen that before.
After making a tackle, Martin remained motionless on the ground late in the third quarter. Medical personnel rushed onto the field, and they called the ambulance out.

Multiple reports are now saying that Martin suffered a hip injury and that he never lost consciousness while on the field. The ACC Network broadcast announced that he was being taken immediately to the Montgomery Regional Hospital.
Virginia Tech beat N.C. State 45-24.
Update: N.C. State shared an update late Saturday night on his condition.
Wolfpack safety Khalid Martin is being transported to a hospital in Roanoke from Montgomery Regional in Blacksburg. He is conscious and alert. Prayers for a quick recovery!
