Penn State took down Boise State on Tuesday night in the Fiesta Bowl, winning 31-14. It was the Nittany Lions’ 13th win of the season and now the team will advance to the Orange Bowl.

The Nittany Lions got off to a hot start in this game and never trailed. In the 1st quarter, the Nittany Lions got on the board after Drew Allar found Tyler Warren for an 11-yard score. Then, just a few minutes later, Allar found Omari Evans for a 38-yard score to put the team up 14-0.

In the 2nd quarter, the Nittany Lions added a field goal while the Broncos finally found the end zone. At the half, the Nittany Lions enjoyed a 17-7 lead and had held star running back Ashton Jeanty in check. In the 3rd, both teams added 7 points, with the Nittany Lions taking a 24-14 lead to the final quarter.

In the 4th, the Nittany Lions added 7 more points to make it a 31-14 game. This would go on to be the final score as the Broncos were unable to get anything going on offense. The Penn State defense collected 3 sacks and 3 tackles for loss and held Jeanty to 3.5 yards per attempt.

Penn State remains perfect in the Fiesta Bowl all-time, moving to 8-0. Now, the Nittany Lions will play either Notre Dame or Georgia in the Orange Bowl. The Nittany Lions are 1-1 all-time against Georgia and 9-9-1 all-time against Notre Dame.

Georgia and Notre Dame will kick off in the Sugar Bowl on Wednesday at 8:45 p.m. Meanwhile, the Orange Bowl will be on Jan. 9.
