Pop-Tarts Bowl announces return for 2024 in humorous social media video

The Pop-Tarts Bowl —and, presumably, its edible mascot — will be back in the 2024 season.
Kellenova (formerly Kellogg’s), Pop-Tarts’ manufacturer, took over the sponsorship of the annual ACC-Big 12 postseason game from Camping World after the 2019 season, and it was known as the Cheez-It Bowl for the next 2 years.
Ahead of the 2023 campaign, though, it became the Pop-Tarts Bowl, with the initial edition drawing more attention across social media than the actual game itself. On Monday, during the College Football Playoff National Championship Game, bowl organizers dropped a humorous video on X announcing that the game would return in 2024.

The 1st-ever Pop-Tarts Bowl went the way of Kansas State as it defeated NC State 28-19. Afterwards, Wildcats players, along with head coach Chris Kleiman, celebrated by chowing down on the game’s edible mascot.
One wonders what the 2024 season will hold for the game — but if nothing else, 2023 was a social media sensation.
