In the 2017 recruiting cycle, the state of Florida includes several elite prospects in areas that traditionally are Gators recruiting strongholds, including two in the Tampa area.

With that, here are five Class of 2017 prospects that Florida fans should get to know.

1. Jarez Parks, DE, Sebastian River (Fla.)

Parks is one of the top overall defensive end prospects in the country this cycle (No. 2 weak-side defensive end) and the 6-foot-5, 255-pounder has been considered a Gators lean for some time. Alabama, Florida State, Miami, Michigan and others also have offered Parks, who has been on the recruiting radar for several years now. Parks is another elite defensive line prospect who would fit in nicely with the talent the Gators signed in the 2016 class. You can never have too many prospects like Parks.

2. Bruce Judson, ATH, Cocoa (Fla.)

Judson, a former Ohio State commit, is a shifty, quick slot receiver type who has double-digit offers. The Gators are near the top for his services, along with Florida State, South Carolina and the Buckeyes. The 5-foot-9, 186-pound Judson is the No. 12 athlete nationally in the Class of 2017 per 247Sports Composite rankings.

3. Zachary Carter, DE, Tampa (Fla.) Hillsborough

The 6-foot-5, 240-pound Carter is the third-ranked strong side defensive end prospect in the 2017 cycle per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s got an outstanding frame, good athleticism and excellent upside. Florida was thought to be the clear team to beat early, but Clemson, which has recruited star talent out of the Tampa area as well as anyone in the last few cycles, has made a strong push of late.

4. Marco Wilson, CB, Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) American Heritage

Wilson, a good sized cornerback prospect at 6-foot, 180 pounds, has offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson and Miami, in addition to the Gators. Wilson is the No. 19 cornerback prospect nationally (four stars) per 247Sports Composite rankings for the 2017 recruiting cycle and the No. 31 overall prospect in the state of Florida.

5. Devan Barrett, RB, Tampa (Fla.) Catholic

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Barrett is one of several touted running backs in the Tampa area in the 2017 cycle and the Gators are battling Auburn, Kentucky, South Carolina and others for his services. Barrett is the No. 21 running back prospect nationally in the 2017 cycle per 247Sports Composite rankings.
