Anthony Richardson showed off plenty of speed on an incredible 80-yard touchdown run on Saturday as the Florida backup quarterback scored late against South Florida.

Early in the fourth quarter, Richardson burst through the line of scrimmage, shook off a would-be blocker, and rumbled the remaining yards to the end zone. The one concern was that he appeared to grab his leg or hamstring as he reached the end zone.

Richardson’s play continued to breathe life into notion of changes at the QB position as Emory Jones struggled at times. Richardson was 3-for-3 passing for 152 yards and 2 touchdowns, along with 115 rushing yards on 4 carries. Jones was 14-for-22 passing for 151 yards, a touchdown and 2 interceptions. Jones had 82 rushing yards on 11 carries with a touchdown.

As the Gators gear up to play host to Alabama next week in Gainesville, a 3:30 p.m. ET game on CBS, there will be increasingly interest from fans and media about Richardson getting more playing time going forward, and possibly starting over Jones. It will likely be one of the more talked about storylines in the SEC next week.
