It’s been a whirlwind for new Jaguars cornerback CJ Henderson.

The former Gators standout was selected by Jacksonville with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, and it didn’t take him long to throw shade at former Jaguars defensive back Jalen Ramsey either.

“I’m not wearing 20 .. (laughing emoji),” Henderson tweeted.

On Thursday, the Jaguars revealed that Henderson would indeed not have Ramsey’s old number. His new uniform number — 21. Henderson wore No. 1 for the University of Florida.

At No. 9 overall, Henderson is slated to have a signing bonus of nearly $12.5 million and a total contract value of $20.5 million. With Henderson, Jacksonville believes it has a lockdown cornerback. At 6-foot-1 and 204 pounds, he has perfect size, speed and measurables to become a star defensive back for many years.

The former Gators standout made an impact in all 3 seasons in Gainesville. In 2019, Henderson made 32 tackles and a team-high 11 pass breakups.
