Dameon Pierce has found a new way to help his team. In his second-ever kickoff return, Pierce made a house call.

Pierce went 98 yards for the first return score of his NFL career. The Houston Texans ultimately fell to the Cleveland Browns 36-22.

Pierce is known as more of a bruiser than a burner with the ball in his hands, but he has always been hard to bring down when he gets a head full of steam. After a promising rookie debut, Pierce has had a bit of a sophomore slump as a pro.

In the 2023 season, Pierce has just 134 carries for 394 yards and 2 touchdowns. He had a season-high 20 carries on Oct. 8, but since then has been limited to 15 or fewer rushes, with 4 games in single-digit carries. Pierce rushed 220 times for 939 yards last season with Houston.

The Texans’ face Tennessee in Week 17. We’ll see if Pierce can make more noise in the return game.
