The Florida Gators kicked off fall camp with head coach Dan Mullen meeting with the media, but the first question he was asked related to Urban Meyer’s paid administrative leave at Ohio State.

Mullen was asked if he had talked to Meyer and if he had any thoughts on his situation.

“You know what? I haven’t,” Mullen said about having any thoughts on Meyer’s current situation. “I sent him a text last night that he had his family were in our prayers. We’ve been very close.

“I haven’t gotten to research much. I’ve just seen a couple of the headlines here and there, because we’re getting ready for training camp right now. He and the family are very close to my family. So, our prayers are with him as they go through all of this.”

Mullen went on he hasn’t seen enough of the report to really be fully educated about what’s going on, but he added he’s going to sit down and really read to understand the allegations fully.

Mullen coached under Meyer during his time at Bowling Green, Utah and Florida before leaving to become Mississippi State’s head coach in 2009. Mullen, if course, was Meyer’s offensive coordinator with the Gators.
