Deion Sanders’ Jackson State program already had the highest-rated FCS recruiting class in the nation heading into Tuesday but that doesn’t mean it couldn’t get better.

For the second time this recruiting cycle, Jackson State has landed a prospect that was once committed to Florida.

Offensive lineman Javonte Gardner was previously committed to Dan Mullen’s program but announced his signing with Jackson State during the Early Signing Period.

Now four-star receiver Trevonte Rucker has followed Gardner as the former Florida commit announced his decision to flip his pledge to Sanders’ program on Tuesday.

The 5-foot-11, 157-pound Rucker is rated as the No. 33 receiver prospect in the nation and the No. 29 overall prospect from the state of Flordia in the 2021 recruiting cycle according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Jackson State now has three four-star prospects committed in the 2021 recruiting cycle following this news.

In addition to these high school additions, Jackson State landed transfers from Auburn, Missouri, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Florida State, USC and UCF since Sanders’ hiring at Jackson State.
