Florida opens its 2021 season in The Swamp on Sept. 4 against Florida Atlantic. Gator fans will be allowed to tailgate on campus that Saturday, UF athletic director Scott Stricklin confirmed Sunday.
Stricklin took to Twitter after long-time Florida football columnist Pat Dooley tweeted that the school wouldn’t allow tailgating for the season-opener. Stricklin joked that Dooley’s account appeared to have been hacked.
Psst … Pat … I think your account has been hacked.
See you at #TheSwamp (and the pregame tailgates) on Sept 4!#GoGators 🐊🏈🐊🏈 https://t.co/IztC0nwcIo

Football fans everywhere have been concerned about potential attendance and on-campus tailgating restrictions due to the pandemic, as we saw last season. Gator fans are certainly excited that they will be allowed to tailgate next month.
