Florida announces kickoff time for annual Orange & Blue spring game
Florida’s annual Orange & Blue spring game will be played on Thursday, April 13, at The Swamp in Gainesville.
However, a kickoff time hadn’t been set … until today. The Gators revealed when the annual spring game would start via Twitter on Tuesday afternoon.
As you can see below, the Gators will start their spring scrimmage at 7:30 p.m. ET on April 13:
Mark your calendars ?️

This will be a good chance for fans to get a look at new QB Graham Mertz and the offense. The defense also has a new coordinator — 29-year-old Austin Armstrong, who had been an analyst on Alabama’s staff before landing the Florida job.
Coach Billy Napier needs to have a strong second year as the head of the Florida program. Fans will be closely watching the spring game to see if this year’s Gators can improve on last year’s struggles.
“Coach Napier needs to have a strong second year………” or else he’s history, finito, throw him under the lake with ugagator
Napier second year gome be good. Gome be real good.
He can avoid that fate worse than being a Georgia troll by a winning season of any kind. Of course, if 2024 is flatlined…….
Doc, CBN has a ton of support from the boosters and especially the Bull Gators. I see a season coming full of questions. However, those questions are easier solved than most people are thinking.
Actually Mertz or Miller only need to manage the game. We will be a heavy running game team this year. Keeping our defense off the field is a priority.
We have the talent to be a really sound team. IMHO, this is CBN’s first season after getting rid of the dead weight from Mullen
Great points Nash, especially the one about having to use his first year to “get rid of the dead weight from Mullen.”
Alas, that dead weight stuck around, even after they were told a team-first culture with individual accountability was coming. They just didn’t believe him. So, they tied up scholarships that might have been used to bring in more portal transfers. All the time they knew they weren’t going to do what the coaches demanded because they’d learned from Mullen there’d be no consequences. Remember the shoe tosser?
However, by the end of the Vandy debacle, Napier knew who they all were and now they’re all gone and we can get a real first season for the Napier era.
Agree, Marsh. Well put.
StLouis, you are correct. Watching the Vandy game was just brutal. However, that was the stalemate between privileged Mullen guys and CBN. CBN won and they are elsewhere. Now it’s CBN’s turn to lay the foundation of a winning program not held together with duct tape and false promises. I still feel that we have the talent to make a solid season and land in a good bowl game.
I, for one, am looking forward to attending this spring game. It’ll be my first in person since my days at UF as a student.
Will be keeping an eye on the battle between the first string offense and defense. Last year, AR cut that defense to ribbons and I said to myself, “Oh, oh, either AR will be the next coming of the last guy who wore #15, or that defense is going to be butt ugly again. Well, we all now know how that turned out.
I agree Marsh, this is like his first season. There will be growing pains, and they do have a tough schedule, but I’m feeling optimistic.
I’m optimistic too GFA. There’s a real opportunity for improvement over last year now. It’s what I’ve referred to before as addition by subtraction.
As always in the SEC, the schedule is challenging, but if looked at through the lenses of talent differential and home field advantage, the Gators will be favored by Vegas in at least six games. Win all six of those and pull a couple of mild upsets along the way and the Gators get to 8-4.
The big trick is to not quit after they have the ball rolling in November, like the Mullen crew did last year in Nashville.
Nash and I were discussing the possibility of flying out for it but may be OBE on my end. I’ll let you know soon – wonder if there’s any chance of Gator-65 (Kevin) making it. Haven’t heard from him in a long while.
Would be real cool to get a few Gators from both SDS and GatorSports boards together for a couple of cold ones and a lively discussion of what the Mertzinator will do to the SEC next fall.
Please let me know when you know more.
I thought of a way to deconflict my pending trip to DC today while meandering down I-35 to New Braunfels. I do my best thinking alone and with a pinch of Cope between my cheek and gums, so it’s just crazy enough to work. I’ll contact Nash this weekend and see what his plans are, ditto Kevin and a couple of guys from our now defunct little blog. Stand by.
Sounds promising.
Maybe I can convince Daz Wazzle to come out of the woodwork too. Now THAT would make it a truly memorable experience!
You might succeed there if his family situation permits. Daz attends spring games. Last I recall, he was caretaker for his elderly mother, which can be quite challenging.
No fan base would be so delusional as to expect a “strong second season” out of program that is the current state UF is in, on second thought …
It’s not about off-season S&C, spring practice, fall camp, assistant coachs de jour, infrastructure etc. – it’s all about recruiting. And to date Sunbelt Billy is trailing mullet at the same junction.
Any Kyle Trasks, Kadarius Toneys or Kyle Pitts’ already on the current UF roster????
There are some Sunday players now on the roster. Time will tell how they perform as Gators.
Man td wow..
I guess being a pompous jerk is what gets you off . At least this time you were not the first to post on an article that has zero to do with the team you root for .
But the article is about the Orange and Blue game. Any Gator fan would be interested in that
gatorfan, it should be refreshing that a grown azz man feels like spending a great big portion of his time (way more than any other grown azz man) on another teams posting board. Speaks volumes about the childlike mental capacity inside the grown azz man.
Very true tailwhip! Just do not understand why he and one other uga fan are so obsessed with the gators when the bulldogs are the 2 x defending champs at this time
There could be many reasons why.
Because they’re stupid
Because they are obsessed and stupid
Because they don’t have a life or family or friends and are stupid
Because they are insecure, have an inferiority complex and are stupid
All of the above?
(x) All the above.
The premise of dumbs being grown is where you are wrong. He’s not mentally capable of managing his emotions like an adult. Dumbs seeks attention from a couple of the puppy faithful. That is his motivation. Sad but true that his life is seeking adulation from strangers on a free website. Consider the source. Dumbs.
Tdow, do you realize that Toney was a 3 star ex QB and Trask was 2 stars turned 3 who didn’t start in his high school team? They ended up being great players but if you just looked at their high school rankings they were not considered great.
Put a different way, who knew who Trask, Pitts and Toney were before the 4th quarter of the game at UK in 2019? Who knew who Johnson and Torrence were before last season?
There’s a lot of 4-star talent on this Gator squad that may have a breakout season this season, now that the Mullen dead weight has been removed from the mix.
We are the boys from old Florida…
