Florida and LSU played the game we’ve come to expect from the two teams. They slugged it out for four quarters and it went down to the wire as a one-possession game. This time, the Gators won 27-19.

For graduate transfer QB Joe Burrow, it was his first taste of the annual SEC cross-division clash. In his post-game interview, Burrow recognized Florida pass-rushers DL Jachai Polite and LB Vosean Joseph as two of the Gators top defensive players. He also said CB CJ Henderson was “a lot better than he expected.”

Tweets don’t always properly convey a person’s tone, but Henderson appeared to interpret the comments as a slight that the Tigers signal-caller expected less from him.

The fact that LSU seemed to throw mostly away from Henderson suggests that Tigers offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger thought highly of Florida’s sophomore corner.

Henderson’s four interceptions last season were tied for best on the team. He also had already recorded a pick in the 2018 season heading into the LSU game.
