The Florida Gators have gotten off to a bit of a slow start as Dan Mullen tries to put together his first recruiting class at the helm of the Florida program.

Currently, the Gators have 13 commits in a class that ranks No. 9 in the SEC and No. 30 nationally, per 247Sports.

However, one recent Florida commit, S John Huggins, thinks the Gators could be getting some reinforcements during the early signing period. According to the Orlando Sentinel, Huggins thinks 4-star Ohio State commit Emory Jones (the No. 4 dual-threat quarterback in the 2018 class) and 4-star S Trey Dean are leaning toward pledging their allegiance to Florida:

“We’re in pretty good shape for Emory, yeah,” Huggins said. “We had a really good time. We really enjoyed it. Him and Trey.”

After former Florida QB commit Matt Corral flipped to Ole Miss, Mullen needs a quarterback for his 2018 class.

Landing Jones (and adding another 4-star player in Dean) would be huge for the Gators and would likely vault them into the top half of the SEC rankings.
