How was Florida affected in final CFP rankings after loss to Alabama?
After tumbling six spots last week to No. 18 in the College Football Playoff rankings, Florida (10-3) took another fall, albeit a small one, to close the season.
After suffering their third loss of the season to Alabama in the SEC Championship Game, the Gators dropped one spot to No. 19 in the final edition of the rankings released on Sunday.
UF was ranked as high as No. 8 in the CFP rankings that were released for Week 12 after a 24-14 win over South Carolina.
Florida was in position to make a run for the playoff after an impressive 27-3 win over Georgia in the first week of October. However, poor performances over the next three games ultimately led to back-to-back losses to Florida State and Alabama.
The Gators’ offense and kicking game has been the main source of their struggles, only managing 11 offensive touchdowns over the last six games. Meanwhile, Florida has only gone 7-for-17 kicking field goals, making them at a 41.2 percent rate that only ranks ahead of Wyoming (25 percent).
