Florida fans react to only 1 player staying on the field for alma mater after Georgia loss
Florida got stomped by No. 1 Georgia in Saturday’s rivalry game in Jacksonville, losing 34-7.
That’s a rough look for the Gators, but things got worse in the opinion of many Florida fans in the aftermath of the defeat.
Win or lose, players often remain on the field for the playing of the school alma mater. Well, only 1 Florida player — Jordan Pouncey — stayed on the field for the song after the loss:

As you might imagine, that led to plenty of anger from Florida fans, upset that more Gators didn’t remain on the field for the important tradition.
Here’s some of what was said on Twitter, with many casting the blame at the feet of head coach Dan Mullen:
The team takes the identity of their coach. If he stayed they would stay. Like everything else Dan only cares about Dan and right now he wants to sulk.

I’m at the point in my life where, as an alum, this pisses me off. Might be “get off my lawn” energy but the U of F means a LOT to me. https://t.co/FpDz3Dmrh9

We’ll see if this changes and if Pouncey has a bit more company after next weekend’s game.
