It may not all be doom and gloom for Florida after the recent news of the team shutting down all football activities due to COVID-19 issues.

Frank Frangie of 1010 XL in Jacksonville reported on Tuesday that “the plan is to practice tomorrow, and play on Saturday. That could change, but that is the plan right now.”

Tuesday’s news immediately casted doubt on Florida’s scheduled matchup with LSU on Saturday, as the Gators look to bounce back from the first loss of the season against Texas A&M, and LSU looks to rebound from a 45-41 loss at Missouri.

No changes have been made to Saturday’s game, and Florida fans certainly hope it stays that way and that the COVID-19 issues the team is currently faced with don’t run too deep. Florida head coach Dan Mullen received criticism after the Texas A&M game, saying he wanted to “pack the swamp” with Florida fans for the LSU matchup. Social media had its fun with Mullen after Tuesday’s news, but the reality is it would put the SEC in a tough spot if the game needs to be moved.

As of right now, that is not the case.
