Florida enjoyed a thrilling victory over South Carolina on Saturday night, and the Gators’ creative team got a chance to troll the Gamecocks after the win.

The Gators saved some receipts from a social media posts on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1 when The Cotton Gin shared that the Gators would go 3-9 this season. So once the game went final, the Gators changed the marquee sign at The Cotton Gin to display, “GATORS WIN! 41-39.”

Graham Mertz threw for a career-high 423 yards and 3 touchdowns, the last a 21-yard pass to Ricky Pearsall with 47 seconds left, as the Gators rallied from 10 points down in the fourth quarter to beat South Carolina on Saturday.

Pearsall had 10 catches for 166 yards in the win.

Pearsall was motivated by South Carolina fans doing the “Gator Chomp” in a mock celebration and told his teammates, “We’re going to go down there and win.”

There was plenty to mock Saturday night after the win for the Gators, including 2 straight losses, and 3 of the last 4.
