Florida names 3 players who are 'questionable' for Utah game
Florida’s Week 1 depth chart lists quarterback Jack Miller III, defensive end Chris McClellan and offensive lineman Kingsley Eguakun as questionable for the Aug. 31 game against Utah.
McClellan and Eguakun are questionable due to lower body injuries, while Miller is questionable due to an upper body injury.
The biggest potential loss is Eguakun. The redshirt-junior center has 26 straight starts and 1,747 offensive snaps, the most of any of the Gators’ offensive linemen. The unit lost 4 starters and 4 backups from last season’s team.
He’s been listed as day-to-day since mid-August after suffering a practice injury. Redshirt sophomore Jake Slaughter is listed as Eguakun’s backup.
Eguakun has started for the Gators since 2021 and was named to the Rimington Trophy watch list on Aug. 4.
Sophomore Chris McClellan is expected to split time at defensive end for the Gators. McClellan played sparingly as a freshman, finishing with 23 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 2.5 tackles for loss and a fumble recovery.
Miller, who is listed as the Gator’s backup QB behind Graham Mertz, is reported to have tendonitis in his right shoulder.
