Florida offensive lineman Noah Banks announced a medical retirement following the latest episode in his ongoing battle with epilepsy.

“Unfortunately within the past year and a half or so, it’s seemed to come back around,” Banks wrote on Instagram.

Banks is a 6-foot-5, 315-pound redshirt senior. The Pensacola, Florida native transferred from Iowa Western College after the 2017 season and appeared in 12 games in 2018, and had the first start of his career against Idaho. He was on special teams and also served as a backup offensive lineman.

“Thank you to everyone that i’ve met through this sport and continue to meet because i wouldn’t have changed it for the world,” he wrote.
