Florida and Miami are not only set to open the 150th college football season in a Week 0 showdown, the two Sunshine State rivals will be playing at least twice more in the near future with the official announcement of a new home-and-home series.

This news was first reported by Brett McMurphy of Stadium but had not been confirmed until Tuesday.

Florida just announced the new Miami home-and-home series with the Gators set to host the Hurricanes on Aug. 31, 2024, in Gainesville and Miami hosting Florida the following year on Sept. 20, 2025, in Miami.

“Florida and Miami playing periodically is good for college football in general, but especially in the state of Florida,” said Athletics Director Scott Stricklin via a released statement. “It is a great rivalry with two storied programs, and in line with our current philosophy of trying to schedule a minimum of 10 Power Five opponents annually.”

The Hurricanes currently hold the all-time edge in the series with a 29-26 lead over the Gators.
