Florida suffers decommitment from 2021 all-purpose back out of Miami
The Florida Gators lost an in-state commitment from a 2021 all-purpose back late on Friday night.
That decommitment occurred when 3-star APB Brashard Smith of Miami Palmetto High School decided to reopen his recruitment.
As you can see below, Smith — a 5-9, 180-pound back — announced his decision via Twitter:
I will be decommiting from The University Of Florida.
Reopening my recruitment to see what’s best for me.

Per the 247Sports composite rankings, Smith is the No. 4 all-purpose back in the class of 2021 and the No. 55 overall recruit from the state of Florida.
Even after Smith’s decommitment, the Gators have a loaded 2021 recruiting class, which currently has 14 commitments. The class currently ranks No. 4 nationally and No. 2 in the SEC, per 247Sports.
