Florida fans certainly wouldn’t mind some records being broken, but this is probably one they could’ve done without.

Saturday’s game against Colorado State tied the record for the hottest game played at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. According to the Gators, the temperature at Gainesville Airport at 4 p.m. ET, the scheduled time for kickoff, was 96 degrees.

With the Florida humidity, it likely felt even hotter for the fans who were in attendance.

It was also 96 degrees when Florida hosted South Florida on Sept. 11, 2010.

The extreme heat didn’t stop the Gators from building an early lead against the Rams. Florida led, 27-3, over Colorado State at halftime.
