It’s safe to say both Missouri and Florida have Nov. 20, 2021, circled on their calendars.

The Tigers and Gators traded barbs this week. While making the SEC Media Days rounds, Mizzou coach Eli Drinkwitz called out Dan Mullen when the Nov. 20 meeting came up in an interview.

“I’m praying for snow,” Drinkwitz said. “Dan (Mullen) is going to complain about everything anyway.”

The late November game in Columbia, Missouri is likely to be the coldest game the Gators play during the 2021 regular season.

Drinkwitz’s comments unsurprisingly made their way to Gainesville. On Friday, Florida football’s official Twitter account tweeted highlights from UF’s 41-17 over Mizzou in 2020. The tweet notably included “icy” emojis.

The Florida-Missouri series has been relatively even since the Tigers joined the SEC in 2012. The Gators have a 5-4 advantage heading into 2021.

Under Mullen, UF is 2-1 against MU. Mizzou upset Florida in The Swamp 38-17 in 2018. The Gators won 23-6 in CoMo the following year. A fight broke out at halftime of the 2020 game after Mullen and Florida players were upset by a hit on Kyle Trask. Many blamed Mullen for instigating the fight after he became animated when complaining on the field about the lack of a flag on the play.
