Video surfaces that might cost Dan Mullen a fine due to the Florida-Mizzou brawl
The Florida-Missouri halftime brawl was an ugly moment for the 2 teams and the league as a whole.
Following a questionable hit on Florida quarterback Kyle Trask to end the first half, Gators players, including head coach Dan Mullen, rushed to midfield to have some words for Mizzou and protect their quarterback.
Reaction on social media started to pour in immediately about a potential fine for Mullen for his actions, but after the game, the Florida head coach down-played everything, saying that the coaches were all trying to get the players off the field.
“From my understanding, I think our guys thought they took a late hit at our quarterback,” Mullen said on the SEC Network. “They’re going to protect him. That’s their guy. I think they were going to protect him. I think both sides were trying to get people off the field, but everyone was a little edgy and probably went a little too far with it. We were trying to get our guys off the field in the middle of it all. … It is what it is — an emotional game sometimes. I don’t condone it. I’m not real pleased about how it all played out, obviously.”
A camera angle followed a heated Mullen to midfield, and it shows the Gators head coach in the middle of it all shouting at Missouri’s players and coaches. Following Mullen’s actions, that’s when things got really ugly between the players.
Check it out, first the hit on Trask and the reaction by Mullen:

Remember, if Lane Kiffin was slapped with a fine for true comments regarding the league’s officiating, the UF head coach may get hit with a fine, too. No doubt the SEC office in Birmingham will have a few words for both teams after Saturday night.
The Gators ended up winning 41-17 behind Kyle Trask’s 4 touchdown passes.
Mullen wasn’t talking to Missouri players or even the coaches initially. He went after the refs and he was right to complain. That was definitely a late hit and the refs should have thrown a flag. If they do their job, none of this happens. That being said, them not doing their job isn’t a reason for a brawl. I wonder how many UF players will have to miss part of the UGA game.
you couldn’t sell that at a WWF match. Mullen went DIRECTLY past he own players and the officials to provoke a fight with the Missouri players and coaches. You can not say “my players ARE GOING to react to a “”””one step after the ball is gone””” hit. Then turn around and say you don’t condone what happened, Mullen caused it to happen.
Wolf y’all got stomped. Mullen was yelling at the refs. Trask was in the throwing motion and the defensive player was 3-4 yards out. He could’ve pulled up. He didn’t.
Mullen walked right past the refs and was yelling at the Missouri coaches. Watch it again Marsh. Looks like Mullen himself started the brawl and even his own assistant coach could not get him to stop.
You’re correct. The ref (white hat) was holding a MO player with his back turned to Mullen. It looks like Mullen is yelling at MO players/coaches, but he’s clearly yelling at the ref. UGARMYRet is wrong.
Coach walks right past two refs and doesn’t even look at them. Heads toward 3 Miz players.
Oh please. Anyone unbiased CLEARLY sees him yelling at the guy in stripes with a big “R” on his back. SMH. He even turns BACK around and is clearly yelling at that same ref. The whole time he is pulled away hes looking at the ref, the players and coaches are already past him at that point. danielmm and Marsh got it right.
The mizz player also had THREE (3) steps, friggin count em. Obvious late hit, bad missed call. Mullen was rightfully upset and didnt cause this to happen. Make the right call and none of this goes down in the first place.
@ugArmyret – don’t be a douche. He was yelling at the refs until that loser in the yellow shirt started running his yap. THEN he was yelling at him. I might be biased sometimes, but even I can see what he was doing. He shouldn’t have taken it that far, but he was asserting himself to the refs in defense of his QB. That a stupid dawg tries to insert himself into this is unsurprising. We’ve both had to be unbiased during our Army careers, so don’t try and say you are being unbiased here.
Padgit8r, the way you call a fellow vet names “stupid dawg,” since I see it different from you leads me to believe you didn’t spend too much time in the military or were unsuccessful during your time there.
How’d that butt kicking taste? Who cares if he yelled at some people. They’re all grown out there.
Okay please learn how to speak when responding? Thank you! #ChompChomp
I’m surprised he didn’t get suspended.
Late hits happen all the time, that hit was only BARELY late – it doesn’t even look malicious! Flags get thrown or not thrown incorrectly all the time, especially in the SEC this season. Man up and act like the GD adult.
No kidding, it’s funny how many SEC fans are suddenly going soft here. I mean he didn’t go for the head, he didn’t go for the knees, he didn’t launch or target at all, he hit and shoved him in the chest for crying out loud, and it was a lot closer to gray area than it was egregiously late.
Interesting take, seeing as how Mullen makes a beeline past the refs in order to yell at the players. He doesn’t turn his full attention to the refs until one of his staffers grabs him and pulls him back.
He’s yelling at the same person the entire time. Please pull your head out. Hes got his eyes at the guy in the stripes with a big “R” on his back. You think thats a coach??
And 3 steps for sure takes it past the “gray area” Booch. Plus hitting the neck can cause whiplash. I’m not saying he had ill intent, but it was a dumb, obviously late hit.
I wonder if this same crew will be working the cocktail party? If so, I wonder how they will act after this? Listen, I’ve had my share of bad things to say about REFS. But at least one of them admitted to costing UGA a national championship with BAD CALLS!
That being said. They do have a pretty tough job. Especially today. Because they never know when Antifa might decide to burn the stadium with them in it!!! Because democratic leaders refuse to stop them. Instead they usually back them up!!! They even have to wonder how much police protection they will get. On top of all that. They have to run around every play getting out of the way. Sometimes getting run over. They have to Sprint down the field trying to see plays in REAL TIME. I think most of them do their best to call it right. BUT, HERE IS THE PROBLEM. THE MEDIA!!! WHEN THE MEDIA MAKES A CERTAIN PLAYER BIGGER THAN LIFE. THEN OF COURSE SOMEONE MUST HAVE COMMITED PASS INTERFERENCE IF THEY BROKE UP THE PASS AGAINST A MEDIA GOD WIDE RECEIVER!!!!!
I hope your understanding my point. The refs are human. They do watch college football and they do listen to the media. Alabama gets a lot of love from REFS. Because the media makes them unstoppable. So when someone is stopping them. The refs tend to lean in and look a little harder for penalties!!!! If your looking hard enough. You’ll find something on every play that is borderline. And out come the yellow flags. Then another thing is timing. THE REFS CALL FOR ALABAMA AT THE MOST CRITICAL CRUCIAL TIMES IN BALLGAMES. IN ORDER TO HELP ALABAMA BREAK OPEN A BIG LEAD. THEN AS SOON AS THEIR SURE THE OTHER TEAM DOESN’T HAVE A SNOWBALLS CHANCE IN HADES OF COMING BACK. THEN THEY WILL START CALLING PENALTIES AGAINST ALABAMA TO SORT OF MAKE THE FINAL STAT SHEET LOOK EVEN ON PENALTIES!!!! If you think I’m wrong. Go watch Alabama play the very best teams in conference. Watch how close the games are until the ref makes a call here or there that changes everything!!!!
NICK SABAN HAS A REPUTATION OF BEING HARD TO TALK TO OR GET CLOSE TO. HE KNOWS IT. ESPECIALLY MEDIA PEOPLE. YET, WATCH BEFORE GAMES. EVEN IN THE TUNNEL BEFORE THE TEAM RUNS OUT. SABAN WILL BE TALKING UP A STORM TO THE REFS AND SMILING!!!! This makes the ref feel. Oh Saban is talking to me. We had quite a friendly little chat. Saban seems to really like me!!! Boy I’m special if Saban is my pal. He is considered by many as the greatest coach ever and he is taking time to talk to me!!! I SURE DON’T WANT TO DO ANYTHING TO MAKE HIM MAD AT ME!!!! IN FACT, I WANT HIM TO LIKE ME EVEN MORE. And people, there lies the problem!!!! I would be willing to bet. That somewhere along the way. SABAN TOOK PSYCHOLOGY CLASSES AND USES IT TO GET WHAT HE WANTS!!! Maybe he just read up on it. But the fact is, I’m telling you. SABAN USES PSYCHOLOGY TO HIS ADVANTAGE. IT IS A FORM OF CHEATING. BECAUSE IT IS MIND CONTROL!!!! NO DIFFERENT THAN WHEN SOME SCAM PREACHERS USE HYPNOSIS TO MAKE THEIR FOLLOWERS THINK THEY ARE MEN OF GOD!!!!
Saban should be consistent across the board and he is NOT!!!! He knows exactly what he is doing. He will never stop as long as it keeps getting him what he wants!!!
Anyway, REFS are only human. But if they read this. They should remember. THEY ARE THERE TO SEE TO IT THAT THE GAME IS PLAYED RIGHT. IF ITS A PENALTY FOR ONE. IT SHOULD BE A PENALTY FOR ANOTHER! And stop giving preferential treatment to certain teams and coaches!!! It’s hard enough to beat Alabama as is, without having to beat the REFS to!!!
REGARDING THIS, I DON’T CARE. MULLEN IS A CLOWN AND A CLOWN HE WILL REMAIN!!!! But he sure got lucky again how he is catching UGA! Some of this is the coaches fault not even allowing JT Daniels or Carson Beck a chance to see their in game performance. Instead wanting to make dreams come true for Tiny Tim and forgetting the team and the fans. But the rest of this mess with most of our defensive starters hurt. The top safety in the country getting injured in a motorcycle accident. All anyone can say about this. That is just PURE FICKLE FATE!!! But now the pressure is on DAN MULLEN. I’M NOT PULLING PUNCHES. IF HE DOESN’T DO IT THIS SEASON. HE WILL NEVER DO IT IN GAINESVILLE FLORIDA!!!! Because Stetson Bennett is out of eligibility. And next year it will be the BATTLE OF THE 5 STARS!!! With at least 3 5 star QBs battling for the starting job!!! If Stetson Bennett beats Florida, then Dan Mullen’s days should be over in Gainesville. THAT IS IF YOU REALLY WANT TO COMPETE WITH UGA!!!! Even if we lose. Many of the players who people assumed would go pro after this year. THEY MIGHT DECIDE TO STAY!!!! Because they might not like to leave with THIS BAD TASTE IN THEIR MOUTH!!!! That is IF Y’ALL WIN! I’m still picking the dawgs!!!!! But let’s say we beat y’all again. But for some reason don’t win it all this year. TELL ME, IF ALL THESE ELITE DEFENSIVE PLAYERS WHO STILL COULD COME BACK. ACTUALLY DECIDED TO COME BACK ONE MORE YEAR! WHO WOULD BE ABLE TO HANDLE THAT GEORGIA TEAM? THE ANSWER IS NOBODY!!!!!! IT COULD VERY WELL HAPPEN!!!
Either way gator fans. If you win thanks to fickle fate. You can still look forward to UGA eating your lunch another 3 to 5 years minimum. Simply because fickle fate won’t do this every season!!! Either way. I can just feel the hopelessness of Florida fans if UGA still wins this one!!! LOL. With all we have going against us now. You would think Florida should win big. But what if we just decide in our hearts. NO! We still own the east and we refuse to lose!!!! Some great teams of the past have had that mindset. Just remember, to be the man. You gotta beat the man!!! WE OWN THE EAST.
PS. The refs still owe UGA a national championship!!! They took it away. So they should help them just like they have Alabama! NO MORE AND NO LESS!!!!!
King Negan
Hey weirdo. You obviously have some mental problems, and that’s ok but know this weirdo..
Alabama is going to continue to be yo daddy. Hey, I know it hurts. It’s just terrible. IF you beat Florida u can bet your crazy ass that Alabama will beat uga once again. Have a good night! Hope y’all can come down for Thanksgiving.
you might be a bigger douchebag than him! you SERIOUSLY think you are better than others because the team you cheer for (because no way in hell u attended bammer) beats them??? “continue to be yo daddy”…and the OTHER dude has a mental problem? all u idiots are retarded I swear
You need to move on man. Whatever you are talking about is over. Done. Will never change. Lay off the sauce too. You sound like the guy at the bar or party that nobody wants to to because you always end up at the same place
There’s really nothing new about the video in this story. It’s the actual footage from the tv broadcast, not some cell phone video as the headline implies.
That said, Mullen literally instigated the fight. All the players appeared to be walking calmly to the locker room until he came running out on the field like a crazy man.
I agree the hit on Trask was a step too late, but that’s not too uncommon in football. Every team’s QB takes a few of those every season. It’s a judgement call for the ref to throw the flag or not. Mullen losing his $hit over it caused the whole fight afterwards.
You’re middle paragraph is spot on. Both sidelines were heading off the field. This is NOT the ref’s fault, this was 100% Dan Mullen’s doing and his doing alone.
Lmao yeah okay! Next time we will have our players to give an uppercut!
Next time type your comment backwards, it might actually be easier to fking read.
GATORQUEEN……Are you a queen as in female or as in tyranny? Just curious. Queen is a name usually used by black females or tyrannies of all races LOL. I’M BETTING TRANNY LOL.
KN
Lost in all the right talk is the game itself.
Florida played great on both sides of the ball. Nice win for the Gators. You guys are better than I honestly thought, even with the layoff you had.
Mizzou got a little too cute with some of the play calling on offense and Florida was in our face all night. Our O line couldn’t protect like they need to.
*fight* talk.
mizzou-fan…Total bush-league. What is it with you Mizzou fans ? You guys seem to have a Rodney Dangerfield no-respect syndrome.
Classy comment mizzou fan. Our defense definitely played much better this game and the offense really didn’t look very rusty.
Mizzou historically scares me and with the layoff, I was worried.
I think Grantham simplified things majors…not to mention Kyree Campbell back which allowed guys back in normal positions. It maybe coincidence that the back end replacements played better, but a pass rush will do that in fairness to the guys out.
You guys looked a 100% rested and came out playing very very good. We had a break going into Kentucky. It’s this season. Drinkwitz has managed to get the best out of this group a couple of games and of course as a fan you want it every weekend. Campbell and Toney were your players of the game. Our Oline has been cobbled together this year but playing well overall. You guys destroyed them plus your coverage was tight. Solid team.
2nd paragraph is spot on. Dan Mullen is the sole reason for the brawl for 2 reasons.
First, Mullen ran hysterically to the middle of the field. He was out of control as his own staff tried desperately to stop him. Then, at a time when everyone needed to calm down, he invited the crowd.
Second, the Florida players have not taught and trained to never ever go on the field. The players at Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Penn State, etc would never do that!!!
A ra jax pray tell me how the team was supposed to get to their locker for halftime without walking out on the field. As far as other teams never doing such a thing and the Gators not being taught better please turn your pages back to the 2007 FLA-Ga game after Georgia scored its first TD and the entire UGA swarmed the end zone to celebrate. The Florida squad stayed off the field and let the refs handle the unsportsmanlike bush league display that day. BTW Mullen was the Gators OC that day.
IMO Mullen was entirely correct inn h ow he handled he situation. While we are still not there Mullen promised to reestablish the swagger to our program when he was hired. His actions yesterday was another step in that direction. You don’t take a late hit on our QB in our house and not expect to pay a cost. While others like you might be critical of his actions you can rest assured both the current players and especially the recruits saw who has their back and that’s what matters most. Missouri is the Show Me State and yesterday was school day for the Tigers. Come this Saturday it’s going to be time for some K-9 obedience lessons to be taught on the banks of the St. Johns River where Georgia is this weeks Gator Bait!
Salty, you are the one that’s spot on. CDM is bringing that swagger back.
“Florida swagger” = starting fights when calls don’t go your way. Yup, that’s kinda how I remember it, too.
“You don’t take a late hit on our QB in our house and not expect to pay a cost.”
The cost will be paid by Florida not having players available to them against UGA. Smart.
Pray tell you are too simple to not what he was referring to by “not coming on the field”.
Swagger should be from winning games, especially against opponents with losing records. TAM, really? So the coach has to to get involved on the field to bring back the swagger, classy. Is he going out to the club after the game with the players to, you know, get back that swagger…
I wonder if you watched the video You’re out of control idiot coach came out onto the field past everybody instigated everything cuz he’s a hothead thug he will be fined he will lose big money but you’re telling us Dan did the correct thing? When he is fined and he will be, to lose money most folks realize he did the wrong thing or don’t you know that either?
Was your locker room entrance behind the Mizzou bench? Because if isn’t, they weren’t walking to it.
If late hits are an issue and coaches and benches should stand up for their player, Mizzou should have been across the field after Ware was blindsided and dusted 15 feet into the endzone after his pick 6. That’s according to your logic. And what your coach has invited now is pre-emptive behavior towards Florida for any player transgressions. Because that’s how it’s done, right? How much you want to bet between now and the end of the season, Florida doesn’t have a late hit on a QB?
drquest, I had no idea 1-1 was a losing record. Interesting. Also, TAM is ranked in the top 10 so it doesnt seem like a bad loss. If you score on 6 out of your 7 drives you win that game 9/10 times. It was unlucky and just a good game for both offenses.
Eddie, Mullen will happily pay a $25k fine if it means showing his players he has their back. Thats a dumb comment. Any good coach would.
@Marshgator……..If we played either of our other QBs. And if half of our starting defense wasn’t gutted. UGA WOULD SHOW YOU WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR SWAGGER!!!! WE MIGHT DO IT ANYWAY!!!!
King Negan
Salty………You sound sooooooooo scary! No late hits without paying a price? Yikes you really are scary. I mean scary scary scary! We have a lot of starters out for this game next Saturday. So I don’t know if I feel comfortable guaranteeing a win. I would if we were full strength. But as is I am not sure. I’m still picking the dawgs but admitting I’m not sure!
STILL IF IT IS A FIGHT YOU WANT. YOU’LL GET THAT IF YOU PUSH UGA AN INCH TOO FAR!!! AND I’M CONFIDENT. OUR PLAYERS WILL STICK YOUR PLAYERS HEADS UP THEIR A$$!!!!
Plus Florida is the team notorious for late hits on the QB!
So if you don’t want people hitting Kyle Trash. Then why are y’all always hitting after the ball is gone? Y’all do everything dirty that you can. Y’all roll up on people’s knees and ankles. You talk during the game and hit high! IF THEIR IS A DIRTIER TEAM IN THE COUNTRY. I DON’T KNOW WHO IT WOULD BE? That even includes Alabama!!! Y’all are dirtier than them!!!
But like I said. Try that against UGA. And we will stick your heads in your A$$!!!! That is not swagger. That is DIRTY BA$TARD$!!!
MESSAGE FOR MULLEN…..
Your coach said he considered himself a bada$$! He said it in his weekly address to the press. GIVE HIM A MESSAGE FROM ME. TELL HIM KING NEGAN WILL PUT THE GLOVES ON FOR 3 ROUNDS AND PUT IT ON YOUTUBE. WE WON’T NEED MORE THAN 3 ROUNDS. BECAUSE HE WILL EITHER QUIT OR I WILL STOP HIM. LONG BEFORE 3 ROUNDS!!! Tell him I said. He can’t go 3 rounds with me. I never boxed in a ring in my life!!!
PS. But ill be glad to go 3 rounds with Mullen. Let’s see how bad he really is? I’M PUTTING OUT THE CHALLENGE RIGHT NOW!!!!
King Negan
That is the softest thing I’ve heard. Protect your QB. Yell if you need to. Stop making excuses for players that threw punches. I’m not making excuses for the two that were ejected on my side.
I agree. Florida’s offensive line failed to protect him and why is Mullen exposing Trask to a potential injury with 2 seconds left and a comfortable lead and obviously dominating Mizzou? For the long bomb toss up in the endzone? That play? Seriously Mullen, PROTECT YOUR QB. Mizzou ain’t making excuses. We’re just pointing out Mullen started a brawl. He’s going to bring you tears of joy and pain.
How does Mullen yelling at the refs justify MO players running onto the field and starting a brawl?
UF players were on the field bc their tunnel is in the middle of the endzone. MO’s tunnel is on their sideline. There was no reason for them to be on the field, and Mullen protesting a bad call is not an excuse. Mullen was also about 30 yards up the field from where the MO players were running onto the field at the UF players. The fact that he’s who the camera was looking at doesn’t mean he somehow started the fight 30 yards away.
Cause his players were following him to Mizzou’s sideline. They weren’t going to the endzone. And he was waiving them at Mizzou. Listening to Gator fans I’m waiting for the Russians excuse.
Looks like the Missouri player actually engages a UF player first to start off the fight. Not only that but Mullen has every right to be upset that player def could have pulled up and not hit trask
Don’t know what video you’re watching, but the one I’m seeing is Dan Mullen acting like a petulant child/thug and instigating the whole thing. Bad calls, including late hits happen- it’s part of the game. Yell at the refs that’s fine- but you don’t run out on the field like that yelling at the opposing coaches and players. That is classless bush league stuff. And then when he comes back out of the tunnel to incite the crowd more- he looks like an idiot! SEC should fine him a minimum of $100k
A Cheap Shot is a Cheap Shot and if you don’t think it was a cheap shot on the QB, your a Dumbass!! Mullen was railing the Refs for not calling a Cheap Shot!!
A late hit is a late hit nothing more. Mullen put Trask out there for the dumbest play call of the game. He brought you home a win but eventually he’ll get an important player hurt. I’d be more concerned about my head coach than a team you beat solidly.
You got it right!
exactly right jordan
Petulant thug? Really? For getting upset for a late hit on his quarterback? Lol Sec won’t fine him $hit
His own words, he didn’t even see it. And your post didn’t age well did it?
And more Missouri players got suspended then UF players showing you guys were just as much if not more at fault
Ben……the SEC did fine the clown!!!
King Negan
Bamajordan, He’s clearly yelling at the ref (who has his back turned and is holding a MO player), not any MO players or coaches. It was halftime, so it was fine for him to be on the field. This happens all the time without the other team starting a brawl.
Dan Mullen was on the field arguing the call. I see all these people saying, “his own assistant was pulling him back,” and it shows you obviously are a casual fan. Any time a coach crosses the side line they have people watching to pull them back so they dont get a penalty. It happens in (almost) every game high school to the pros.
How can he argue a call he didn’t see? His own words.
Okay take your inbred ass and go have Saban give you the money he used to pay ncaa to be able to coach after testing positive for COVID-19!
LOL…other SEC cats talking coach decorum is funny.
You got it wrong. He is obviously yelling at the guy in stripes with a big “R” on his back and turns around DIRECTLY at that same guy when he gets pulled away. Is that a coach or player? No. His eyes are solely on that ref. Dont be stupid.
Not surprised to see the SDS staff busy looking to find more penalties and suspensions for Florida. Hell, I usually have to go to SDS’ dedicated Florida Gators page to find anything on the Gators. The front page is all SEC minus Gators.
Well, to be fair, every other SEC game this week had record setting performances in one way or another. Only game that didn’t was the Florida Missouri game I believe. But you can be sure this will be one of the main headlines talked about all week.
Uh did you miss the record set by Trask in throwing the most TDs in SEC history over 4 games (and they were all in conference play; no cupcake padding).
You are wrong. This game provided an SEC record breaking performance by Trask. He set the record for most TDs in the first 4 games
That’s right, I stand corrected. My bad, completely forgot about that.
And to point out my flaw further, Georgia didn’t set any records Saturday, although they did extend one. So again, my bad.
Very good response. Few people acknowledge their mistakes, whether here or in life.
Trask set an SEC record yesterday, becoming the only SEC quarterback in history to throw 18 touchdown passes in the first four games of the season. Not even Joe Burrow did that. Nor has Bo Pix, of course. Hahahahaha.
Do me a favor and read 2 comments above you. Then when you’ve seen you’re late to this party, try to use it as an example to read more before you respond.
You made a false comment directed at me. I get to reply directly to you. Do us a favor and leave.
TigerAlum, you mean the record Trask continues to set (touchdowns through 2 games and touchdowns through three) dont count? You mean two Heisman contenders aren’t worth talking about? Lol
Do me a favor and read 3 comments above you. Then when you’ve seen you’re late to this party, try to use it as an example to read more before you respond.
Looks like the SEC refs are taking former Alabama QB, ESPN color guy, and Florida-hating Greg McElroy’s advice. Twice this season McElroy has explicitly said from the broadcast booth that roughing-the-passer penalties called on obvious late hits on Trask should not have been called because Trask is so big and strong and can take it. What an absolute piece of trash Greg McElroy is. So defenders can hit Trask late until he’s out for the season? Would McElroy say the same thing about an Alabama or Ohio State quarterback? Hell no. Sad to say that some trash SEC refs seem to agree with trash McElroy.
You are embarrassing yourself
You’re a fool.
I don’t even have to look for video to know that’s not accurate
It’s 100% accurate. I heard him say it during two UF games earlier this season.
Wolf man, that is how ignorance spreads. “I know better than you, I dont have to have evidence.” Hahahaha
Mullen is a punk and did the exact same thing against Vandy I think 2 years ago at Vandy. Even though it was a late hit, Mullen always looks to instigate to ignite a fire in his team.
Is Vandy still around? Almost forgot they have a football team. Wonder if we could trade them for UCF or Nebraska to make things more interesting. Just kidding, we love Vandy and are SO fortunate to have them in the SEC (in baseball at the very least)
I know that was a sarcasm and rightfully deserved. But hey, someone has to bring Nattys to the SEC other than Bama and LSU football.
Yeah, Vandy has been competitive in about every other sport.
TigerAlum, surprised you mentioned UCF. Have you forgotten the Peach Bowl?
I know that’s an attempt at an insult but kinda reinforces my point in their selection doesn’t it? Auburn beat Bama and Georgia while @ #1, then UCF beats Auburn to be the only undefeated team if I’m not mistaken. Sounds to me like a team that could make things interesting and be competitive.
Understand Malzahn will be coaching for some time to come. LOL.
I can live with it. We have one of the few coaches that can beat Saban and recruits well. Could be worse.
Oh you mean the game where Vandy’s coach walked over to Florida’s side of the field and started yelling at Florida staff first while Mullen was arguing with the refs…
He went to go look at his injured player that your player did a dirty blindside hit and taunted the hurt player. Yeah show some class, oh wait you don’t.
it was penalized and I have no issue with him checking on his player but when he starts running his mouth at our sideline he is out of line. The whole point is that it was taken care of on the field, unlike what happened in the situation with Trask. Mason was the one that started that situation during that game. The fact you cant even own that shows how hypocritical you are.
Your name says it all. Florida is a good football program but not a great program. It will really be good for cfb if they become great again
back to back top 10 finishes and in a great position this season I would say they are well on there way. Just to be clear the name goes back to the McElwain days and I just cant change it…
Coming from the black & gold headed step-child of the SEC, that’s real rich. Nobody really cared for the expansion in 2012, and y’all haven’t done anything to help your case. Tuck your tail between your legs and go back to the bottom tier where you belong. Good kitty.
There a reason why you, or anyone who shares any DNA with you, weren’t consulted when the opportunity to expand presented itself.
CG, you stand alone with that awful opinion. You may not be impressed with Vandy’s football performance, but many of Vandy’s athletic programs are regular title contenders in the SEC. (Read: they beat your school regularly) Not to mention it’s a dramatically better academic institution than your favorite school.
Says the team that hasn’t been relevant since when?
Oh wow, what a bad man. Looking to ignite a fire in his team. Wow. What kind of coach would do that? All of the good ones maybe?! Please watch Alabama football games, Saban is king of running on the field pissed.
Great teams don’t need fires to ignite them. Especially against a team they’re better than.
You mean when when ole Derrick Mason was the Gator sideline? Gotcha.
BlackanGold…Amazing ! A trash-talking Vandy fan ? “IF” your team were actually relevant you might have the right to talk smack…but since Vandy couldn’t even be relevant in the ACC…go back into your basement & your Mom will have that mac-n-chees ready in a jiffy.
Y’all Gaturds fans act like he took 4 steps then smashed your QB. He was 1 step late.
It’s football. Pansies I swear.
Mullen is the ring leader too.
Hey dumba$$ he was 3-4 yards out and trasks arm was already going forward.
Hey dumba$$ gator fan, the Mizzou player took one stride after Trask had released the ball. Tape doesn’t lie. Probably should have been called a personal foul but it wasn’t. That happens all the time in football. So suck it up. Couldn’t believe after the brawl the idiot shows up at the press conference in a Darth Vader outfit and keeps his mask on the whole time. That game and the press conference just completely validate he is a complete a$$clown. Embarrassing really.
Why, it’s Halloween. Can’t someone be in a costume? I know he’s a little quirky but chill. Your teams offense is embarrassing and you better score more than 14 points or your going to have a second L with that midget at center come Saturday.
We don’t use that word. We call them ‘little people’.
And the halloween subterfuge doesn’t work. He’s not quirky. He’s an excellent play caller who thinks of himself as having Spurrier like quips with Myers like alpha-volitility. But, he always falls flat when he let’s loose with an imitation. Just guessing, but it seems like immature impulse control.
417, that a$$ whipping is coming accept it and live with Mullen in your head.
It was certainly a roughing the passer hit and should have been called giving the Gators one more play. Would anything have started if the ref immediately had thrown the flag?
He LITERALLY takes 3 steps after the release of the ball. It’s not even close to just one. Pull your head out.
Florida fans: “Mizzou is dirty!”
Everyone else on planet earth: “Mullen definitely instigated that and should be fined.”
You go, man!!!
That’s primarily because no one cares about Missouri. The reason no one says anything bad about you is that they don’t care, not because they like you.
Honestly, we don’t really care if we’re loved other SEC fans. Love interacting with the ones who are respectful, regardless of what they think. There has been a consistent message from each of the fanbases however. It’s not complimentary of Florida.
I care bro…I actually love the direction that Missouri is headed in…Obviously the new coach is gonna need a year or two to implement his system and to recruit the type of players he needs, but the Tigers play hard-nosed and it’s all gonna come together sooner than later…Dont listen to some idiots talking down about your team, especially when their own team hasnt done much to brag about recently…Outside of my beloved Crimson Tide, I have adopted Mizzou as my
That’s awesome, thanks!
I love how everyone knows “exactly” what Dan Mullen said when he ran out on the field.
It doesn’t matter what he said. He had no business running on the field regardless of the reason. He was the main instigator of the brawl. Don’t let your fandom blind you from reality.
As I Kirby wouldn’t have done the same thing!!
If….
Right, because you’re from Florida.
Coming from a fan of the team who swarmed the field after scoring its first TD against Florida in 2007? Who is wearing fandom blinders? BTW Mullen has every right to be where he was at that moment as it was halftime and he was on the direct path to their tunnel but nobody wants to recognize that small fact.
Well said. I had that comment in my back pocket
If Florida’s tunnel was behind Mizzou’s bench. He did not walk to his right, he walked towards Mizzou’s bench. He did not waive his players towards the endzone, he waived them towards Mizzou’s bench. I’m starting to think Florida fans are directionally challenged.
when did anyone say what Richt let those players do was right???? dumbass comment from a dumbass gayturd
It was halftime.
Hey UGA….were you the guys in 2007 twerking on the field after a touchdown initiated by Reverend Richt?
The brawls are more fun than the game. I hate it when they break them up.
sure, because broken hands are fun to watch happening? or what?
I always laugh when fans think fights are horrible and should never happen. Have you ever watched hockey? They actually have guys that are known for being enforcers. The only stupid part is guys swinging their fists at other guys that are wearing helmets. Now who will admit that they loved the good ole days when players got leveled coming across the middle of the field?
@tiger alum 83 trask broke the. sEC. Record for td passes thru four games. So don’t try and spin it ass Mullen and Fla are only known for a record setting brawl.
Enforcers in hockey, kinda still exist, but not really. That’s been gone for 10 years or so.
Now that was a sideshow Dan move!! Totally his fault it all started. There was absolutely another way of going about that..
Ok Gators fans…I respect yalls team, and im very impressed with how much yall have improved…But IF Bama head coach Nick Saban acted the same as Dan Mullen here, the entire country would be calling for Saban’s head on a platter…Mullen knows better than to act like that…He’s the one thats supposed to keep them even keeled and disciplined…Now his actions possibly will cost some UF players to be suspended for the most important game for the Gators in decades…Not a good look.
If Tua was smacked like that I’m sure Saban would’ve done the same.
I would like those being critical of Florida and where the team and coaches were to take a minute to really study the film and the sequence of events. Trask throws an incomplete Hail Mary from the south 45 yard line as time expires in the half. Both teams are headed for their locker rooms by separate tunnels with Mizzou’s being in the SE corner of the field and Florida’s being located in the south central end zone. Florida players and coaches obviously have to be on the field to get to their locker. At this point watch carefully as a Mullen clearly is berating the refs for a blown call. More importantly the Mizzoo coaches are forming a picket line trying to separate some of their players who are clearly trying to engage the Florida players around the 20 yard line. Some of those players have actually turned around from their tunnel and can be seen coming back out to start the altercation. At no time did Florida become the aggressor until punches were thrown.
It was bad timing. It’s perfectly fine to go onto the field at halftime to confront refs over a bad call. He didn’t realize there was going to be a brawl starting at the same time with MO players running onto the field for no reason.
I agree Saban would get killed, but it would be unfair and based on narrative and opportunistic rivals, not reality, because that’s how CFB works. That’s what’s happening here.
Possibly…agree with that narrative about Saban, but that’s namely due to his success. I believe Saban would have reacted similarly though. To your point, suspensions if handed out will hurt.
Both sides should get a grip. Roughing the passer calls happen all the time and benches don’t clear. Why this time?
The benches were going to clear because it was halftime. Also, it was actually a roughing the passer non-call that got Mullen mad. Both sides are to blame in some capacity. Nice to see everyone thinks their team is completely blameless in the brawl though
Last play of the half, and both teams having to exit the field in the same direction. Too much opportunity for this to happen
Florida had to go on the field to exit through their tunnel in the middle of the endzone. No idea why MO players were on the field, as their tunnel in on their sideline.
The actual fight started off-screen, so it’s hard to know what actually started it. All anyone wants to talk about is Mullen, though, so I guess it doesn’t matter.
Watched the clip repeatedly. Looks like Mullen waved at the Missouri players to move away from his players, trying to separate them. Then he turned and said something to the refs and was following the refs when the melay started to break out. It then seems the Missouri coach came up to Mullen and said something to him that obviously upset Mullen. The Florida players are headed to the Florida ramp but the Missouri players come from there bench and exit ramp and confront UF. Two things. 1. Ref throws a flag, no melay. 2. If the Missouri players had gone to their rampway, no melay. It seems the first group of Missouri players were engaged with the UF players and Mullen was telling them to leave. But they started hopping around and things escalated from there. Everyone was as fault to some extent and suspensions and fines for both sides are coming for sure. It is going to hurt UF’s chances of beating UGA. But I bet the ref who did not throw a flag on an obvious flagrant personal foul will be reffing next Saturday and nothing will be said about him not doing his job and being the primary cause of the melay.
A no call by a ref is no justification for a brawl. If that was the case there would be brawls every week.
UGAGrad. Please explain how you comprehended from my post how I was trying to justify the melay. I was explaining how I saw it developing and the main reason for how it could have easily and correctly be avoided…the ref making the right call that happened right in front of him.
So when Mullins is Turned AWAY From all Missouri players with his BACK Towards Them Gearing up the fans…. He Should Be Suspended Along with his C-Block Players.
Nature, it’s pretty obvious from most of the commenters that they see what they want or expect to see.
Mullen said after the game that he didn’t even see the late hit because he was watching for pass interference in the far end zone. The melee happens about seven to eight seconds after the play ends, and only because the two benches are close to each other (where they can trade insults) as they are heading for the tunnels.
If Mullen didn’t see the hit, then why was he so upset? Please don’t say he heard about it in the few seconds between the play ending and him hysterically storming the field.
He’s upset because our receivers were tackled in end zone. Pass interference
I’m looking but can’t find that angle, every camera shot I’ve found is focused on Trask and the fight. I don’t doubt what you’re saying, just haven’t seen it for myself.
After watching the late hit in slow motion a few more times it’s more egregious than I originally thought, and Yeah I’d be pissed too. But I still can’t get right with Mullen’s impulsive field-rushing reaction that, at best, didn’t help things.
Tigah, I was at the game.
Still trying to find it…got any keywords to type in?
Again…SEC refs create a problem…Is Sankey ever going to police the refs ?
All year they have been terrible.
My apologies Nash, apparently that is what happened – someone told Mullen about the late hit because he was watching the endzone instead. (At least that’s what he says.) But it makes sense that the second-hand report to Mullen was exaggerated in the heat of the moment, and that it really set him off not having seen that it wasn’t really a dirty hit on his star QB, just late.
That’s exactly what happened.
And because he did that it started the brawl.
Mullen’s actions didn’t start the brawl. It’s funny that you feel the need to keep posting that nonsense though. Great distraction for getting blown out.
And everybody missed the part where he attempted to gather everyone to the middle of the field so they could say a rosary and pledge to be better men for God. Must have missed that with your version of events.
Dan Mullen’s own words are that he did not see what happened and yet he went out there to argue with the refs. SEC refs make horrible calls every weekend and yet somehow when coaches argue with the refs, these coaches don’t incite brawls.
It was a late hit, but was not dirty. I’m pretty sure I can go back over your games and I’ll find a late hit. Has Florida been in any brawls incited by the other team’s HC?
You guys want to get excited by Mullen? I get it. Been dry down there for a while. Defending and rewriting what happened? At some point you’ll have to face what you have. He ain’t your Meyer.
What kind of coach excuses blatant defiance of ncaa rules..He should get fined and then suspended for inciting a Thuggish Act of UnSportsmanship…EVERY uf/ mizzou player that clearly ( verified through video) threw a punch….Each should All Be added to the suspended list..no matter the number of……otherwise what precedence would they Set for future thuggish response to a call our Non call.
No doubt you would feel the same if this was UGA right before the UF game. If the SEC suspends a bunch of UF players (who did not throw the first punches by the way), the game next week should also be cancelled. Who wants to see Florida play UGA without 20 or so players? Maybe you do as a UGA fa, but I doubt most of America or CBS does.
Regardless of who’s fault it is . The Gator offense and defense played great.
Dan Mullen also was protecting his players. He said the players were upset and were trying to protect their quarter black. “He is their man”.
Honstly, I do not think there is a better quarter back on the country than Kyle Trask. The man has composer, calmness class. Beside being a great quarter back.
You wrote “Honestly, I do not think there is a better quarter back on the country than Kyle Trask”. You’re kidding right?
He’s probably not. I think Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields are more talented, but Trask has shown football IQ and pocket movement this year that are vastly improved.
I’d say he’s neck and neck with Mac Jones. When you watch Jones’ deep throws, they’re not all that accurate: He’s just heaving the ball deep and his receivers are adjusting their routes to the ball.
But Nash…they count as receptions and touchdowns just the same. Everyone always says Alabama quarterbacks have an “advantage” because of the elite receivers…but Coach Saban recruits the best.
Florida is a good team. Potential to be great. No need to address Mullen, read above if you’re interested. I think however every coach is their man (unless you’re talking about Chad Morris at Arkansas, they did not feel that). Kyle Trask has definitely improved. However, there are a number of QBs out there who could be successful with the offense I saw. He’s one of them.
Juvenile by Mullen, who I really liked and would have been supportive of trying to hire at aTm.
It’s football, slightly late hit. Wasn’t targeting, head-hunting, blind-side, blatantly late, at the knees, etc. It’s not lawyer ball. Trask was fine, say something to the refs, under control as a professional, and head to the locker room. Coming back out of the tunnel was beyond ridiculous.
But I would like to thank Florida for a great game vs aTm.
Gig ‘Em Aggies!
Good call JPBama. Mullin acted like a clown including showing up at the press conference in a Darth Vader outfit. Should have been Ronald McDonald.
Exactly JP. Where has personal responsibility gone??
You can almost tell what team a commenter is for just by reading their post.
It was a late hit by Missouri. And it doesn’t even appear as if he tried to keep from hitting the QB. Should have been called.
However, Mullen is not talking to the refs, he walks right by them and is screaming like a madman at Mizzou players. As a UF fan pointed out, Mullen chooses to set the tone for his team but being of control when his players all seemed to be walking off the field without any issue. So Mullen escalated the situation. He wasn’t yelling at refs or he wouldn’t have gone right past them.
Then a Missouri player went after Mullen (and Missouri coaches and players all came into the field).
Bottom line:
Late hit should have been called
Mullen is supposed to lead his team in character and he failed to do that. No excuse for behaving like that especially as the leader of his team.
Missouri players can’t react like that.
SEC and NCAA will respond to this and UF should be hoping it is just a fine. The way UF won this game (although against a Mizzou team that isn’t that good), would have gotten them some buzz but now that buzz will be marred by a coach who showed how not to lead his team.
We will see this weekend in jackson. Trask is going to throw 5TD against the popps.
When was a quarter back threw 5TDS against dogs .
He incited the fight as much as the late hit did. Dude was out of control. He tried the same thing vs Vandy last year until Derek Mason called his bluff. Dan wanted no part of meeting him at mid field.
LOL…so you know what was said on OUR sideline? Gotcha.
No because when Mason told him to STFU…..crickets.
I would have loved to seen that.
None of this might have happened if Mullen had shown some class. Florida was and continued to dominate Missouri. They had the ball mid-field and were getting it back in the second half. Instead he took 2 shots at the end zone (second with time out due to offside penalty). He wanted to grind his heal in the opposing team’s face and it got out of hand.
Wait… You’re saying Mullen was classless for trying to score at the end of the FIRST half? How long have you been watching football?
LOL….don’t score as much as you can…and before the half.
You can’t make this stuff up!
You tried to punt the ball twice before that and then decides to go for it. He was rubbing Mizzou’s face in it and I get that. But if you do that you have to accept the players on the field are going to go after you QB and other players. They’re going to try and stretch and get the hit in. You’d do the same so crying foul is well, has something to do with a cat. Plus, Mullen didn’t even see it. You got a good team, could be great. Don’t know if Mullen will get you there.
No he just put Trask and other players out there at risk of injury for a play that had little chance of mattering. And he had a comfortable lead and Florida was dominating Mizzou. Reckless is the term I would have used.
1. Definitely a late hit that should have been flagged…15 yards and play another down.
2. Mullen upset and was clearly yelling at MIZ players, coaches and refs. CLEARLY.
3. He should have got in the refs faces only…and expect to be levied a Kiffen tax.
Mullins actions sparked the silliness…great entertainment and glad no helmets were hurt receiving this blows.
You should CLEARLY watch a replay of the entire incident. Mullen was clearly separated from the center of the fight and had no effect on it one way or the other.
In this kind of situation, coaches should be seen doing only one thing: Stopping their players from fighting. That’s not what Mullen did. If the conference doesn’t punish him, then the SEC loses its credibility. Fans are used to the blue blood teams always getting the breaks by the officials. They fine coaches of other schools for telling the truth. If Florida gets away with this, then the conference can’t say anything about other coaches doing the same thing.
Losing their credibility? The officiating is already the laughing point on lots of sports shows. I think that credibility level has already taken a hit. Spankey needs to go back to the Southland conference.
Classic SDS headline: “Video Surfaces…”
Yes. The SECN broadcast.
what a clown Mullen was to show up in a darth vader costume to post conference. Can’t wait for my dawgs to beat up on those garbage cans
You better score more than 14 hoss.
yeah, because he’s playing lmao…you turds are so f’n lame…..why is UGA favored by 4 1/2 points? should be easy money for those mighty gayturds!!
Fighting is never allowed. Game stat wise,it was not a late hit, , as it was not flagged. But I wanted to thank the F coach for being a dumbass and making Missouri come together better as a team to fight for each other to stand up and throw punches and say we’re not taking your b******* your favored media b******* Mizzou stands tall to throw punches, will take and give the blows and we’ll see you in the second half and that’s exactly what happened, Mizzou NOT GOING TO BE your punching bag, wished C Dan would of got cold cocked across his fat head, he started it by being a hot head and was literally out of control..you engage a ref for your issue not other team players, he needs no less than a 50,000 fine and those proceeds got directly to the local food bank! p.s. don’t respond to me, your words will be without value and worthless, just like mine are to you! Go Mizzou!
Wow…..wow.
A mind is a terrible thing to waste.
LMAO @ Eddie R…don’t respond to me on a message board he says.
Proud of how you came together for a blowout L?
That was… interesting.
Almost as entertaining as the fight!
It’s clear Mullen instigated the fight itself. There was clear reason for him to have words with the ref, but no reason for him to keep walking past the ref to have words with Missouri players. No Gators or Missouri players were near each other until Mullen started jawing with Missouri players. They were actually walking off the field. At that time, Florida players came out en mass and started surrounding the Missouri players on the field. This was followed by Missouri players coming out. The Gator players and the coach came 3/4 the way across the field before Missouri players started coming out.
Yes, the refs should have made the right call initially and it was their job to handle it. But it was not Mullen’s job to start a melee. Up until that late hit, I was impressed with the sportsmanship I saw on the field on several occasions.
Missouri might have lost the game but they won the fight Florida’s going to get fined and they’re going to have players out why Missouri Goes On by love it! Plus Missouri is going to heal up get ready for Georgia after Georgia beats Florida haha
If that makes you feel better….I guess. Pretty silly comment but we dont know how old you are so that has to be considered.
You do that type of stuff at Mizzou bro.
Looks like C D threw a punch..at a ref…see ya!! Straight jacket for him! Hahaha
I watched the tape over and over again, and I think it has been altered so as not to show that the limo came to almost a complete stop just before the head shot or that there was a bullet hole in the Stemmons Freeway sign. Oh, wait a minute–wrong tape.
If Mullen is the bigger news in Florida today, that may be a good sign. It could be that Chad may not be the only thing hanging in the Sunshine State if things get out of hand tomorrow night.
Great comment LH, but 95% of these commenters will have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.
Just at the top of the video from Saturday night, you can see three players quickly walking away from the grassy knoll.
LH61, that’s funny stuff right there. Keep on keeping on man.
Officiating was an embarrassment again. When will Greg Spankey do something about this. Even more challenge opportunities if the crews just cant figure out what their job is…and its NOT to decide who wins and who loses. Come on Spankey, do your job.
Florida over Georgia by at least a touchdown next week. Then they get to lose to Alabama in the title game and we can have 2 SEC West teams in the playoffs!
Florida may lose to Alabama in the SECCG if it gets past Georgia this week and wins out, but if you think TAMU gets into the playoff you’re crazy. If you think any other West team gets in, you’re really crazy.
I have no idea what would make you think that. The Aggies have a legitimate shot. The Gators or UGA would have to beat Bama in order to make it in. Not much of a shot there.
So nothing will take back the absolute butt kicking we got, but the refs were horrible. Missing the Mizzou timeout and not flagging the late hit. It was a late hit, but not worthy of Mullens reaction. Expecally going after players and not appealing directly to the refs. We need to hold these coaches accountable. A fine is definitely in order.
I hate to see emotions run amuck by anyone anywhere. And that scene was certainly beneath the dignity of both those teams. MU and UF are great schools and something like that just diminishes their repute. So what if they win or lose a game. Who cares. They can’t even behave.
$25k fine and lost a starting DL for the first half. Could have been a lot worse.
Dan Mullen earned a lot of respect from his players by going after the refs. Can’t fault him for that.
Wow that’s a tough blow and penalty for Florida lol…..NOT
That Fla assistant who grabbed Mullen should have stuck with him. He obviously recognized Mullen was extremely hot, and he should have dragged Mullen all the way back to the Fla. sideline.
Not saying Mullen didn’t have a point, but there are times when the staff have to look out for the boss.
What I am seeing is Mullen acting like the moron he actually is. For the Gator fans trying to say Mullen was only screaming at the refs is a joke. The video doesn’t lie. The only good thing I know is when we play Florida is seeing Mullen on the sidelines. Then I always know we have a chance. Why, cause he is way too emotional to make the right decision. You can say what you want about Saban getting mad, but it is usually at his own players or the refs. Then he calms down and moves on. Not Mullen!
He should pay a fine. He’s a coach, not a player. He is supposed to be more mature than that.
I have no horse in this race other than hoping Gators win-out so Ags can snap the #4 CFP spot! Lol.
1st off, SEC ref are horrible. As SEC fans, we all have this in common.
2nd, I am ignoring all the stupid whining from both FL and MO fanatics. Fact is, Mullen is a grown man and should act that way. His behavior will end up costing his team in the long run and there is no excuse for it. He certainly was an antagonist on the field. No excuse for it either way you view it. As the leader of the football team, quit acting like an idiot Mullen!!!
Now I get the Gator fans that love his enthusiasm and fire. You just cannot do it and compromise the strength of your team moving forward. My guess is that Mullen regrets his actions and completely let his emotions get the better of him.
Listen, I’m a Florida fan and there are several things wrong with all of this. First is the late hit (doesn’t look like anything but a late hit), second is the missed flag (definitely should have been thrown and ejection as he hit him in the head), third is Mullen running to the field like a mad man (he should have walked to the refs and addressed it directly with them). With all that being said I do think he did the correct thing by taking blame for it after the fine. It’s not a good look but it’s over and done and all must just move on now. Go Gators.
What should have happened is that it should have been a “roughing the passer” penalty and with a defensive penalty with time expired off the clock, the half cannot end on a defensive penalty, so FL has one non-game clock play left before going in the locker room. Mullen was so irate that I think he was looking at bunch of people (refs, players, coaches) amidst the elevated situation. But now, I do not condone the actions Mullen took, though. Being a head coach of a Div 1 top ranked football team does not exemplify good behavior nor does it teach/display an example for your players and coaches.
I do believe that it sparked a fire in the players in the second half especially Trask running the ball with a “man on a mission” authority to help his team win the game convincingly.
He got lucky that more of his players showed maturity that he isn’t capable of in stressful situations. Dude was freaking out and used the old “you’d better be glad they’re holding me back”.
Don’t know if Mullen instigated a fight or not. Every person out there is still responsible for their own actions.
Late hit probably but he didn’t really lay him out. Trask looked to be flopping for a call. Bad call or not Mullen should never run out on the field and confront officials. Players follow the example of their leader.
